About The Ayew Family….

Famous retired Ghanaian footballer, Abedi Ayew Pele, who served as captain of the Ghana National Team was born on 5th november, 1964. He was professionally known as Abedi Pele.

During his young age,he played football barefooted for fun. He attended Dome Anglican Primary school where he also played for them.

As a young boy, he signed with a local club known as the Great Falcons to play for them. He moved on to play for other football clubs, Al Sadd, FC Mulhouse, Real Tamale United …

 As a teenager, Pele represented Ghana at the international level by playing for Ghana in the 1982 African Cup of Nations.

He has since represented Ghana at the international level until the late 1990’s when he retired from international football.

He was the captain of the Ghana National Football Team from 1992-1998, he holds the record for most appearances at the African Cup Of Nations.

 

He is one of the most respected African player,and has won honors and awards both in Africa and international.

 Abedi Pele is succeeded by four children, Ibrahim, Andre, Jordan and Imani Ayew. His three sons have also become professional footballers and are internationals for Ghana.

Ibrahim and Andre were selected for the 2010 Fifa world cup. Andre and Jordan also played at the 2014 Fifa world cup. Currently, Andre and Jordan are players for Ghana Black Stars.

Abedi Pele is married to Maha Ayew and he is the brother of Kwame and Sola Ayew, ex hearts of oak and Black meteors players.
