In a statement, the first lady said “I am thrilled that we are making these new investments in adolescent girls’ education and deepening our partnership with the Government of Liberia,”  “These girls are so bright and so eager to learn, and these investments will help them build the knowledge and skills they need to provide for themselves and their families and contribute fully to their communities and their country.”

‘Education for girls’ being Michelle Obama’s theme of her visit, we’re not surprise she visited Liberia, Liberia has really suffered in the past. First it was the civil wars between 1989 and 2003 and just when all seemed well, in 2014, the deadly Ebola swept the country killing almost 5000 people. This resulted in most schools shutting down for months! Therefore no education for the children (who are the future of every country)

Thank God things are back to normal…. FLOTUS’ visit, funding Education For Girls will make a huge difference in Liberia…Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.. remember ‘You educate a man; you educate a man. You educate a woman; you educate a generation.’ Brigham Young  (No offence men)
