The World Vision Forum buttressed the decision as the United States-based research organization also named Nana Akufo-Addo the first in Africa and third visionary president across the globe.
These awards have made many wonders what the cerebral president could have done to claim the highly esteemed accolades; after all, there are numerous visionary presidents in the world.
They reported that the self-disciplined president has been up and doing since he was elected in 2016 with numerous favorable policies including free education for all until secondary level, pivotal developmental goal and resolute commitment to tackle corruption.

The Canadian-based research institute further stated that his administration remains the most transparent and near-total corruption-free in the history of the country’s democracy when compared with other past presidents. It was also noted that his activeness, humility, and exceptionality among other African leaders, inspired the award – he is called the best among equal.
It is no news that two of the nominees of the 2018 Leaders of Tomorrow’s award have left their respective offices; Ian Khama, the formal Botswana president, who is succeeded by Mokgweetsi Masisi in April 2018 came second.
The former Mauritian president, Ameenah Gurib, left office in March 2018 was voted third. Seychelles president, Danny Faure was forth while Adama Barrow, Gambian president was voted fifth in the lucidly transparent research voting process.
The 2019 Year of Return
Nana Akufo-Addo recently began a campaign ‘The 2019 Year of Return’ to attract Ghana citizens in the diaspora to their motherland through quality health care, education, improved security and economy to promote SMEs and other thriving businesses in the country.
He noted that the Ghanaians in the diaspora could play a vital role in African development, saying that China benefitted from the vast experience and knowledge garnered by her emigrants that ended up investing in their home nation following their extended stay abroad.
William Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, born March 29th. 1940 has served in numerous Ghanaian public offices including the Attorney General of Ghana (2001 – 2003), Member of Parliament (1997 -2004 and 2005 – 2009) and Minister of Foreign Affairs (2003 – 2007) among others.
The ever determined political icon contested for presidency in 2008 and 2012 under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and lost to the candidates of the National Democratic Congress’ John Evans Atta Mills and John Dramani Mahama respectively.
However, his steadfast ambition and his determination to bring qualitative change to his country made him contest for the third time and won under the same political party.
The Ghanaian president enrolled in the prestigious University of Ghana, Legon and earned a B. Sc. Degree in Economics 1967. He also served the Inner Temple as an apprenticeship, otherwise known as the Inns of Court before being called to bar in 1971.
Nana Akufo-Addo has bagged the needed experience in all the corners of life to prepare him for the position he now occupies, and that has helped him in sailing the ship of his country to safety.
