LisaRaye McCoy Enstooled As Queen Mother Of Agona Kwanyanko
American actress LisaRaye McCoy was recently enstooled as the Queen Mother for Development of Women of Agona Kwanyanko (Central Region of Ghana). Chieftaincy in Africa is very prestigious and must be held as such.
Ghana has 16 Regions namely:
- Greater Accra Region – Accra
- Eastern Region – Koforidua
- Ashanti Region – Kumasi
- Ahafo Region – Goaso
- Central Region – Cape Coast
- Northern Region – Tamale
- Upper East Region – Bolgatanga
- Upper West Region – Wa
- Volta Region – Ho
- Bono Region – Sunyani
- Oti Region – Dambai
- North East Region – Nalerigu
- Savannah Region – Damango
- Bono East Region – Techiman
- Western North Region- Sefwi Wiawso
- Western Region – Sekondi
Even though there no title such as ‘Queen Mother’, there are of course chiefs and queen mothers in many villages and small townships, who are highly respected.

LisaRaye will not reign over Ghana’s Central Region. The Central Region of Ghana about 20 or so towns, she will be the Queen Mother for Development of Women of Agona Kwanyanko one of towns.
Ghanaians are still trying to figure out exactly what’s going on, and are also confused about the ‘The Queen Mother of Ghana’ title.
It is good that LisaRaye will be helping the Women of Agona Kwanyanko.
What puzzles many Ghanaians is the fact that even after many people have corrected her on social media, she still has not edited her post in reflect the correct title.
This has led many Ghana’s to believe that is because she is ignorant of the Ghanaian culture.
Another thing that one of the people we spoke to pointed out was that, the event was on Eventbrite and clearly states queen mother of Agona Kwanyanko as per the post below
LisaRaye knew that before going on Wendy Show and should have mentioned her correct title.

Some Ghanaians are of the view that, is because Lisa Raye doesn’t know anything about Ghana nor the culture, others believe is misunderstanding, misleading and might be miscommunication.
Others believe Ghanaians should take it easy on her, because she is trying to learn more about her African roots as well as the culture in general.
Whatever it is one thing is for sure, when LisaRaye gets to Ghana she will understand why people were shocked when they watch her interview because there is no such title in Ghana as ‘QUEEN MOTHER”
