Aicha Evans Of Zoox – Women In Tech

Our Tech Spotlight This Monday Is None Other Than Aichatou Sar Evans

Aicha Evans is the CEO and a board member of an automotive vehicle technology company known as Zoox Inc.

She is a Senegalese-born, American-based computer engineer who spent most of her childhood years in France.

Miss Evans earned her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at George Washington University in Washington D.C. in 1996.

Following her higher education, she served in various engineering positions at Rockwell Semiconductor, Conexant, and Skyworks Solutions located in the U.S. for barely 10 years managing wireless communications and devices groups. She was able to lead more than 7,000 employees.

In 2006, she was employed at a popularly known American technological company, Intel Corporation where she worked for 12 years. With the company, Aicha led a couple of wireless engineering projects technologies including, Bluetooth, Wireless LAN, XMM register, and 5G.  

Her achievements and remarkable work input got her upgraded to the position of Chief Strategy Officer in 2017, where she was responsible for assisting the C.E.O at the time in strategic initiatives to help execute developing projects for sustaining the company. 

She also helped in transforming the company’s long-term strategy from a PC-centric company to a data-centric company.

She got the opportunity to serve as an eye witness alleging unfair business practices and potential antitrust violations during the Federal Trade Commission case against Qualcomm. Joining Zoox Inc. as the CEO made her the first-ever black American female CEO of such a prestigious technological company.

Miss Evans voluntarily worked with non-profit organizations including the Anita Borg Institute for Women & Technology as a trustee and the Silicon

She was celebrated among the list of 100 people regarded as those changing businesses in the transportation sector positively by Business Insider, a U.S business and financial update website in 2019 and was recognized at the George Washington University Engineering Hall of Fame.
