Uganda: Ykee Benda’s Kigampala Festival Comes Off December
The first edition of the Kigampala festival kicks off on Saturday, December 17, at the Lugogo cricket Oval in Kampala.
On October 29 of this year, Ugandan celebrity Wycliffe Tugume, better known by his stage name Ykee Benda, launched the Kigampala Festival, an annual event whose stated mission is to strengthen ties between the people of Uganda and Rwanda through the sharing of music, culture, and the arts.
Leading artists from both countries, such as Bruce Melody, Ray G, Levixone, The Ben, Salvador Daddy Andre, Lydia Jazmine, Ykee Benda, Valentino, and Cindy, will be performing at the festival, which will serve as a cultural and entertainment exchange.
Paul Mulangira, one of the festival’s organizers, claims that the friendship between the two nations inspired the idea for the festival.

For many Ugandans whose ancestry can be traced back to Rwanda and vice versa, this longstanding friendship is something we want to honor. We have a lot in common in terms of culture, cuisine, femsex, tourism, and music,” he remarked.
He said next year’s festivities would be held in Rwanda, with Uganda participating and, if all goes well, additional East African nations joining in.
