Happy 60th Birthday Richard Mofe-Damijo

Popular Nigerian veteran actor, writer and lawyer, Richard Mofe-Damijo also known as RMD marks his  birthday with stylish photoshoot.

The birthday which happens to be his 60th years was celebrated by family, work colleagues and netizens all over the world.

These loved ones took time off their busy periods to shower well wishes and blessings on the actor’s life as he continues to enjoy the path of life in strength and good health.

As a writer and actor, RMD celebrated himself in a brief but encouraging message to appreciate God for his life. He wrote:

“Finally! It’s dawn…And it’s my birthday…What an incredible journey…This has been Yet I won’t tire…Just super grateful…And thankful..Life like a Nollywood movie..To God be the glory!”

 

He also posted a video of himself dressed in his fashionable green embroidered agbada and beads necklace whiles he dances to a Nigerian traditional music. Under the video was another caption to show gratitude to God and his supports.

 

Born on July 06 in the 60s around the coast of delta state in Nigeria, RMD began his television career as an actor after graduating from the university. Prior to his acting career, RMD worked as a journalist, specifically reporting for former Concord Newspaper, Metro Magazine and the Guardian.

Ace Nigerian musician known by his stage name, Burna Boy turns a year older today. Clocking 30 years today, the multiple award winning superstar has been surprised with a special birthday present from his family.

 

Burna Boy’s family displayed some decorative balloons and light that had his name and age to join him celebrate his special day. On the artiste’s Instagram story, he posted the videos of him entering his room and surprisingly saw the lovely gesture from his family who were singing a birthday song at the background as he approaches the balloons and light.

 

A week before his birthday, Burna Boy took to social media to share emotional message about how he felt as approaching his 30s in a week time. He as well celebrated his dad and wished himself better life as he looks up to him. Adding that, he’d like to celebrate a whole week in Miami for his birthday, tagging some friends along the post.

Remembering Princess Diana On What Would Have Been Her 60th Birthday

Today, July 1st 2021,   The royal family and the world  are remembering and paying tribute to the Princess Diana of Wales on what would have been her 60th birthday.

Princess Diana passed away in a gory motor accident in August 31, 1997.

The sculpture of the late princess at  Kensington Palace and was unveiled to the world by her two sons, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William and the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry.

Princess Diana’s statue was commissioned in 2017, but the family officially revealed it today as part of today’s memorial. The monument is mounted at the entrance of the palace which has undergone massive replanting of trees and flowers particularly, the kind of flowers the princess loved in her earthly days.

The garden is also described as one of Princess Diana’s favourite places in the place. The statue has two statues of children at the edges with Princess Diana’s arms around the necks of the children, believing to depict her love and the benevolent works she stood for.

Prince William and Prince Harry paid a combine tribute, posted the picture of their mother’s statue on twitter with a caption that said;

“Today, on what would have been our Mother’s 60th birthday, we remember her love, strength and character – qualities that made her a force for good around the world, changing countless lives for the better.”

The longest serving music icon and television personality celebrated his 72nd birthday on Sunday June 20, 2021 which also happened to be Father’s Day. 

 

Whiles celebrating his father, Lionel Richie Snr. on his social media pages, he received double of the admiration from family and loved ones as a birthday celebrant and Father’s Day salutations.

 

He spent quality time with his family and was also well celebrated by fans and lovers across the globe. The children of the singer and songwriter gave him remarkable reasons to smile and feel so special by appreciating and celebrating their father with a cake made in his likeness.

 

A picture of his children happily admiring the birthday cake was displayed on the Instagram page by his youngest daughter  Sofia, with a  Father’s Day message at the comment session. Also, several pictures from the birthday celebration was posted on the daughter’s timeline to honour the musician.

Born on June 20 1949, Lionel Richie grew up in Tuskegee, Alabama in the united states of America. He started developing his passion for music in his early years whiles he was in college.

He co-founded a renowned R&B band dubbed, the Commodores where he wrote a lot of hits songs for the band. Some of the songs include, “Easy”, “Three Times a Lady”, “Still” and others in 1968.

He then introduced himself as a solo artiste around 1982 releasing his first solo album, Lionel Richie comprising of his major hit single, “Truly.” He was the co-writer of Michael Jackson’s “We are the world”.

Lionel Richie is one of the music icons in America and has been relevant in the music industry since his recognition. He’s produced a lot of hits and received several awards for his innovative flairs. He’s got in his possession, a total of ten studio albums, four live albums, seven compilation albums, and 42 singles.

He has won several Grammies alongside with other prestigious honours for his amazing contribution in the world of entertainment. Currently he serves as a judge for the singing competition platform American Idol.

Happy Birthday To Harmonize

Happy birthday to East African superstar and owner of the Konde Gang Worldwide record label, Rajabu Abdul Kahali, popularly known as Harmonize.

Harmonize began his music career in 2011 but rose to fame in 2015 when he became the first artiste signed under Diamond Platnumz’ WCB record label.

He recorded his first single “Aiyola” in 2015 which was sold successfully. In 2016, the young and talented music icon followed up with songs including “Bado” and “Kwa Ngaru” featuring Diamond Platnumz.

His collaboration with Diamond Platnumz on the song “Kwa Ngaru” served as the breakthrough hit for his career in 2017. Some of the singles he released under the record label include, “Matatizo”, “Happy Birthday”, “Sina” among others.

Harmonize founded record label, Konde Gang Worldwide. His first album titled, “Afro East” was the main project embarked by the artiste since he started his music profession.

The album consisting of 18 songs was officially launched in March 14, 2020. A lot of energy was invested in his main project because he worked closely with expensive African artistes including those mentioned above.

Artistes signed unto Konde Gang Worldwide are seven including harmonize himself. On Thursday, march 11, 2021, a new artiste known as Angela was unveiled to work with the record label and was officially welcomed in an honourable ceremony held at the headquarters of the crew.

The welcome ceremony came after the main introduction by the leader and founder of the label, Harmonize in a brief press conference held on the same day at the Hyatt Regency in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

 

The newly signee gave her consent to work with the label in the presence of her parents.  For now, Angela is the only female artiste signed onto the label. She’s been labelled as Angela by Harmonize. Her label mates are Ibraah, Country Bwoy, Killy, Cheed and Skales.

Currently, Harmonize is in a relationship with Tanzanian actress Frida Kajala.

She has featured in movies like, Kigodoro, House Girl & Boy, Jeraha la Moyo, Vita Baridi among several others.

Happy Birthday To Didier Drogba

Retired Ivorian national football team captain and striker of the Chelsea FC, Didier Drogba turns a year older.

The greatest of all time, soccer player has been honoured greatly on his birthday by his fans across the globe and the various clubs he played a pivotal role in the world of football.

His soccer colleagues also paid tribute to the living legend on his 43rd birthday celebration for the never ending excellent skills displayed as a professional footballer.

 

Knowns officially as Didier Yves Drogba Tébily, was born on March 11 in Abidjan, the capital of Ivory Coast. Drogba spent few years of his childhood age in France where he was raided by his uncle who was then a professional footballer.

Drawing inspiration from his uncle, he gained passion for football and decided to follow his passion at age five by making soccer his hobby and played almost every day at a car park where he lived. Later on, his parents moved to France.

Developing his professional skills, Drogba joined a French local sporting youth club, Levallois as an apprentice where he contributed exceptionally and impressed the team’s officials when he was just 15 years old.

At 21, he signed his first professional deal with Le Mans Club in Ligue 2, a France professional soccer league. He served the club from 1998-2002.  Drogba then moved to another club known as, Guingamp, between the years 2002 and 2003 where he scored 17 goals out of his 34 appearances.

In 2004, he stepped up his game by signing a prestigious contract with Premier League Club, Chelsea where he made remarkable impact on the team with his dribbling skills as the club’s striker.

Indeed, Drogba’s success in Chelsea gave room for the African continent in gaining international recognition in producing highly skilled young talents in the world.

It also inspired African players and served as a measure to explore their unknown abilities that earned them both local and international recognition.

Didier Drogba played a major role for Chelsea FC by helping the team to win its first Premier League Champions after 50 years while he made his debut appearance for Chelsea.

His subsequent roles for the clubs was such incredible that, he gained extraordinary titles in his name. He was recognised by FIFA for being the first Ivorian player to score a goal in the 2006 World Cup.

He is also the only African player to score highest goals for the club and 100 goals in Premier Leagues.  

Other soccer clubs the ace footballer joined include, Olympique de Marseille, Shanghai Shenhua, Galatasaray, Montreal Impact and Phoenix Rising. Drogba retired from his profession officially in 2018, at 40 years.

 

Aside his massive contribution in soccer, Drogba has taken up several social and philanthropic projects to help young ones in fulfilling their dreams through his Didier Drogba Foundation which was established in 2007.

Bob Marley’s 76th Birthday

We all know that Bob Marley is considered the godfather of reggae music. Over the years fans of Marley have used his birthday as a celebration of the life he led and his influence on the reggae music genre.

The month of February is known as the Marley mania which started in 1998 and has featured multiple parties from the beach to the streets becoming a norm following the reggae King’s death in 1981.

The annual bash features the friends, family, and fans of the reggae icon making a pilgrimage back to the yard as a way to honor the memory and legacy of Bob Marley.

The entire nation of Jamaica and reggae fans around the world have rallied together to celebrate the icon with a whole week of back to back parties.

This year’s Marley mania week will be a little bit muted due to the prevailing global pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic has been ravaging the world and has taken a huge hit on international travel. Putting on hold many of the world’s festivities.

Featuring performances from the second and third generation of Marley’s with messages from family members like Ziggy Marley being broadcast.

There will also be a Survival Cypher that will feature several artists like Kabaka Pyramid, Skip Marley, Agent Sasco, Tifa, Tanya Stephens, and Jo Mersa.

 The Bob Marley virtual celebration will be featured on Marley’s social platforms as well as other platforms.\

Bob Marley’s fans will have an opportunity to have bought “Songs of Freedom: The Island Years” available in 6LP and 3CD that will was released on the 5th of February.
