African Celebrities who give back – Michael Blackson Commissions Blackson Academy in Ghana
Michael Blackson, a famous American / Ghanaian descent comedian, has commissioned a school in his hometown, Agona Nsaba, in the Central Region of Ghana.
On January 3, 2023, the three-storey building was officially commissioned as part of Michael Blackson giving back to the community by using his new Blackson academy to help the less fortunate to enable them to have formal education.
The comedian hinted last year that he was now in a position to give back to his community by constructing a school in the Central Area. He explained further that he was finally at a time in his life when he could make a difference in people’s lives, especially children, the less fortunate in society.

The ultramodern building, named “The Michael Blackson Academy,” is outfitted with several classrooms and other facilities designed to make education both efficient and entertaining.
Michael said during the commissioning event that all students will get a full scholarship to the institution.
“Everything is free: free food, free tuition, free uniforms. The only thing you need to pay is attention, “he said
Friends and individuals who have traveled from all across the world to show their support were also acknowledged in his speech.
Today is the greatest day of my life because I’ve finally accomplished what I always wanted to do which is giving these kids a chance to be great. Greatness starts with education and foundational education shouldn’t come with financial barriers. pic.twitter.com/glw0dJVzXr
