Afrobeats Rapper 6ixty Drops ‘Close To You’ Single Off Debut Album

Afrobeats rapper 6ixty on Friday, January 11, 2019, at around 4 PM at his base in Ghana quietly released Close To You, the first single off his upcoming debut album titled Nyamekye. 6ixty dropped the beat on his SoundCloud.

Close To You is a love song performed in West African Pidgin English with some sprinkling of the Ghanaian Twi language on the backdrop of a classic sample. It provides easy listening for Afrobeat lovers and all.

The single features DatBeatGod on the hook who also produced it.

Known in real life as Enock Ako Akrong, and a 2013 graduate of the Regional Maritime University (RMU) of Ghana who majored in Marine Mechanic, 6ixty disclosed that his musical ambitions started even before he enrolled in RMU. “Back before in my Senior High School days at Osu Presec in Accra Ghana, I always felt the call of music loudly in my heart.

6ixty who is also CEO of the artist, event, and production management firm Fun Houz Entertainment, told TheAfricanDream.net that Close To You is inspired by love, and while he worked on it with his producer, they both coincidentally agreed on many things regarding “how my debut album would sound and feel like.”

“We had an easy connection which listeners can catch from hearing the single, so it made sense to have him feature on a few of the other tracks of the coming album, which is going to have 7 tracks on it in total,” 6ixty said.
