BANK OF GHANA DECLARED AS AFRICAN CENTRAL BANK OF THE YEAR FOR 2019
Bank of Ghana has been awarded the African Central Bank of the year 2019.
This was achieved following an in-depth research which was carried out by the officials of the central banking, revealing the impressive accomplishment in restructuring the Ghanaian banking sectors…
The award scheme was of the view that, since the appointment of the Governor of Bank of Ghana in 2017, there have been an excellent improvement regarding the central bank.
This is because, Bank of Ghana took a bold decision to review the country’s banks which resulted in closing down some unstable banks whiles merging others.

Also, the bank took a major action by collapsing many micro-finance institutions who obtained false banking license in a shortest possible period.
New managements and regulations were replaced to take over those collapsed financial institutions. There was a total reformation at the banking sector by Bank of Ghana.
The reports applauded bank of Ghana in the sense that, such decision was a serious menace which could have affected the country’s economy but it was able to control the situation.
Despite the great achievement noticed in the report, there were few problems the report indicated the bank still faces.
However, they trusted it can be solved based on its performance for the past three years.
