‘Yaba Buluku’ remix finally gets an official music video and as expected, it comes off as another big win for African music, paving the way for more mega cross-cultural collaborations on the continent in the years to com

It has been well over two weeks since Mozambican star, DJ Tàrico featured Nelson Tivane and Preck on the remix of his sought-after Amapiano single ‘Yaba Buluku’, done together with ‘’Best World Music’’ Grammy award-winner, Burna Boy, thanks to the pan-Africanist vision of George ‘Geobek’ Beke: the ‘’Geobek Standard’’ for African music, talent, culture and entertainment.

Today, following its critical success on all major streaming platforms worldwide, an official music video that was long overdue swoops in to celebrate the spirit, as well as unity of African culture, dance, language, music and most notably, to push Amapiano as a prime Afro-genre on the global market.

A journey right on course thanks to American rapper, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who shared a video of Burna Boy dancing to the song at hand.

Unanimously the biggest collaboration on the African continent right now, ‘Yaba Buluku’ remix retains its crown in the video department as well, boasting an engrossing set of visuals from director, The Alien, as he zooms in and out of the intense street dance standoff between Mozambican and Nigerian factions.

Beyond the Yaba Buluku Boys and Burna Boy however, lies a cameo from Poco Lee. The famed dance influencer can be seen amid the night time frolics, revving hype behind the ‘’Twice As Tall’’ artist in bursts that read: ‘’Odogwu you bad!’’

The all-new clip’s beauty lies in its portrayal of the electrifying ambience between two vastly different cultures, as both sides revel in the frenzy, undeterred by their language barrier, nor comprehension of the music on blast.

There’s an equally intriguing set of dance moves on display too; one that brings the two cultures together as they enjoy and appreciate quality music on Geobek Standard

We find ourselves in an era where there is a lot of experimental music coming from the new breed of artists who are young, gifted and very bold.

Fearless in their pursuit of music, they do not shy away from trying out new things and thanks to this class, music genres have gotten very spicy and the lines that categorize these genres keep blurring out. Listen/stream

K.Junior takes on this mantle very well. As a Highlife musician, his goal is to take this genre which originated in Ghana in the 19th century to the world.
Joining the likes of Ebo Taylor, Osibisa and Pat Thomas, he has a master plan to attain this. Simple yet complex, he plans to achieve this feat by fusing Highlife music with more prominent and trending genres.
For his first attempt, he jumps on Amapiano, a sub-genre of House music that emerged in South Africa in 2016 and is growing into one of the biggest genres making rounds with 80% of its listeners residing outside of South Africa.
K.Junior tackles this very well by seamlessly merging the two genres (Amapiano and Highlife) on his latest single ‘Mansa’ and earning him the title of Pioneer of this fusion of Amapiano and Highlife with excitement to see other artists/producers join in.
‘Mansa’ starts with a Ghanaian traditional percussion pattern known to Kpanlogo that will get you bopping your head right from the moment you hit play.

This is followed by a smooth piano melody and consistent synth which are key elements in Amapiano. Then comes the chorus, singing in the style of a Ghanaian traditional choir with all vocals harmonized beautifully. Somewhere along the line comes the jazzy saxophone which will blow you away.
The merger of these two genres is a mission that has been perfectly executed and K.Junior brought his own Ghanaian homegrown flavor to the well-received Amapiano.
By all the standards, the production of this song is top-notch and very well crafted.
The lyrics are easy to grasp and sing along and the rhythm and melody will definitely get you busting some dance moves wherever you find yourself. K.Junior deserves his flowers for the production and performance of this masterpiece.
We know you will enjoy ‘Mansa’ as much as we did and smacking it on replay will be inevitable.

Blaq Jerzee from Nigeria is partnering with Tanzanian R&B artist, Jux. In attempt to ‘Free Your Mind’, these two do everything they can aurally and visually with this feel-good track.

Blaq Jerzee has taken seriously progressive steps within the last year, watching him grow is incredible as he cements himself as one of Africa’s newfound treasures.

Nigerian born artist is running off the back of previous releases for this exciting new project. Releasing singles ‘Sokoma’ and most recently ‘6AM’, Blaq Jerzee continues to work with the opposite side of the continent to bring that ‘African Heat’.

The track ‘Falling For You’ has been playlisted on Spotify’s ‘African Heat’ and achieved 2.3 million streams so far.

Jux, who joins Blaq on the track, is bringing the East African influence on this infused track. ‘Bongo Flava’ specialist currently has 2 tracks from his recent album residing in the official genre playlist on Spotify.

Jux has been releasing music since 2014 with lots of experience including high profile collaborations with Diamond Platnumz, so he is no stranger to a banger.

Here is a preview of ‘FREE YOUR MIND’

Along with artist status, Jux is also a successful entrepreneur with his fashion brand ‘African Boy’, assisted by his 5.5 million follower count on Instagram.

‘I’m going to fix the broken pieces in your heart’, rings around during the chorus, presenting a heartfelt and warming element to this feel-blessed track.

Musically this is reflected, with positive horns throughout the track as well as elegant guitar riffs, this detailed and intricate composition sits on top of some laid back Afro-beat type percussion, a slower tempo but lacking no rhythmic movement.

This dreamy instrumental is supported by the angelic vocals from the two artists on the song who glide hand in hand with each other across the beat. Rich in texture, both verses show signature moves from each artist and the combination of the two on the chorus provides a floating feeling from the more skippy verses.

Powered by www.ceek.com – a top-level creation with an eclectic palette used throughout the imagery. Blue sea vibes, ice white shirts and pink lighting, combined to create a pleasant watch visually.

Not to forget the artists both bringing their intimacy and seductiveness to the performance. Set on the silky African coast in and around yachts and sandy beaches, it is more than desirable.

East meets West, the album, is another step closer to its arrival. Breaking down barricades with some of the most influential artists and producers on the continent. Blaq Jerzee and Jux really showed their coherence of the East meets West combination and what this album has in store! Watch Free Your Mind on www.ceek.com/jumajux
