District Assembly – Ghanaians Go To Polls Today

As part of the decentralization process of governance in Ghana, all has been set today, December 17, 2019, for Ghanaians to go to the polls and cast their votes.

Their votes will help the leaders at the district level to commence decision-making process in the grassroots to aid development in the country.

 

According to the Electoral Commission (EC), over 50,000 candidates have registered

However, almost 20,00 out of the total registered candidates are contesting for assembly members, whereas, the rest  are interested in becoming unit committee members.

The EC believes the election will be conducted correctly and successfully because well-trained technicians have been deployed to all polling stations.

They will be assisting with any technical dysfunction and biometric verification devices to be used to verify voters.

Ghanaians who are eligible to vote are encouraged to cast their votes to improve the decision-making process.
