Rihanna Foundation Donates $5 Million To Help Fight Coronavirus
Rihanna’s Clara Lionel foundation is a non-profit organisation which seeks to fund education and emergency response programs across the world.
As the world is being confronted with this deadly Coronavirus, Covid-19 and has restricted mobility and progress globally, Rihanna, through her foundation has donated $5million to contribute to the preparedness and fight the Coronavirus.
The foundation announced its contribution on Saturday in an Instagram post which stated that,
‘We’ve responded to COVID-19 by distributing $5 million in grants to @PartnersInHealth @DirectRelief @FeedingAmerica @RescueOrg @WHO and Barbados to prepare communities w/ critical protective gear, medical supplies, equipment…’

Again, the foundation in a statement shared its sentiments regarding the sudden virus and how it’s pulling back lives no matter who you are, or where you are coming from.
According to the foundation, one of the most important weapon to help to combat the virus is preparedness which must start now!
The donation will be allocated into local food banks in the US, quickening testing in Haiti and Malawi, provision of protective kits for frontline health professionals and also help marginalised and indigenous countries with the essential resources to fight the virus.
