TBT: Rita Dominic
Born to the Royal Nwaturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise, Rita Dominic is a talented veteran Nollywood artist with years of experience in the movie industry.
Her professionalism won her the City People Awards in 2004 along with the Africa Movie Academy Award for the Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2012. Rita has starred in over 100 Nollywood movies as one of the very few to have done so.
Prior to her first movie in 1998, Rita was a regular college students, although had passion for acting. She started performing when she was a child by featuring in school plays and children’s TV programs in Imo State, Nigeria.
Encouraged by this passion, she graduated with a BA (Honours) Degree in Theatre Arts in 1999 from the prestigious University of Port Harcourt. Although she had her debut performance before leaving college in 1998, she didn’t let fame stop her from bagging the needed degree.
Aside the City People and Africa Movie Academy Awards, Rita Dominic has won numerous awards for her undivided determination and contribution towards the Nigeria movie industry, including The Best of Nollywood Award for the Best Actress in Supporting role in 2013, Nollywood Movies Awards for the Best Actress Lead Role in 2013 among others.
In Ferbuary, Uche Maduagwu, another veteran Nollywood actor gave a hint on social media saying the 43-year-old beautiful career woman will be walking down the aisle with a billionaire husband from the Southeastern region of Nigeria.
Uche wrote on Twitter “@ritadominic Your destiny is tied to a Billionaire husband will minimum wage haters were laughing at you for not being in a serious relationship or marries. God was busy preparing a billionaire for you”.
He added that :@ritadominic I am so happy for you dear sister because finally, God has gradually put a beautiful smile on your face, very soon, the world will start adding a MRS title to your name too”. Rita has not confirmed or denied the viral tweet of her colleague and the name of this billionaire businessman is yet to be revealed.
