Wishing Ghanaian actress and media personality Efia Odo, a fruitful year as she celebrates her birthday.

Efia Odo has made a name for herself in the world of entertainment despite the feuds and controversies she put up on the internet with her opinions.

Inasmuch as she continues to face criticisms she’s easy-going and outspoken with her thoughts as she always pours out her views on societal and personal issues.

People admire her welcoming personality and that has helped increased her followers on social media. On Instagram, she has pulled over over million followers and counting.

She was celebrated by her colleagues and fans today on various social media channels.

Andrea Owusu,  she was born on July 18, 1993 in Juaben in the Ashanti region of Ghana. At the age of five, the actress joined her mother in the United States of America.

There she continued her education at the Nyack College located in New York and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree certificate in psychology.

After her graduation, she worked with a health institution in the us as an assistant nurse. Efia Odo developed the passion for acting and decided to move to Ghana to develop her acting skills.

 

Landing on her motherland Ghana, her zeal to make it in the movie industry has never been derailed. She has been focused through persistence and gradually she has been accepted in the Ghanaian movie industry.

She has been starred movies like “Heels and Sneakers” by actress and producer, Yvonne Nelson, “She Prayed” and “Royal Diadem”.

Efia Odo doubles as a radio as a co-host with long-time media personality, Abeiku Santana. She has also been featured in music videos of some Ghanaian artists including Kwesi Arthur.

Her acting career has won her the award for the category of Best Leading Actress during the 2018 Ghana Movie Awards.

The 2020 edition of Billboard Magazine has featured renowned and multiple award winning Nigerian artistes Including  Davido, Tiwa Savage and Mr. Eazi on the magazine cover.

Billboard Magazine celebrating the African continent and the highly talented individuals inspiring this generation through the good rhythms and lively music they produce, giving the continent a global recognition on the global chart of music and arts.

This is the first in the organisation’s history witnessing emerging talents from Africa.

However, it honoured outstanding collaborations like Beyoncé’s “Lion King” album which featured several African artistes and Drake’s collaboration with Wizkid on his “One Dance” song.

The various artistes mentioned above were involved in a video chat,  they  described the flairs in African music, the opportunities, the difference between being signed under a record label and being independent.

Other topics highlighted was the problems Africans face internationally and their love for the continent and how they appreciate the African culture.

They also discussed the pandemic situation and its effect on their personal lives.

In addressing the above issues, Tiwa Savage disclosed that the lockdown, this pandemic has made her gain different perception about life and how delicate life is, her planned tour and other music plans have all been affect but it has also helped her get closer to her family.

She added that, advanced in technology has impacted Africa positively, resulting in promoting the African culture through music and arts.

Davido also talked about how crazy it was when his partner Chioma contracted coronavirus after his America tour. She has now fully recovered.

He talked about the fact that, despite the language barrier, African music or afrobeats back in the days received global attention because of its exciting and amazing beats, people just love the African music.

He stated that the internet is expensive in Africa but in terms of profit making or incomes, it’s a fair deal and he’s optimistic there would be great revenues when the means of streaming becomes less expensive in Africa.

Mr Eazi said the coronavirus is not affecting his career. He’s rather using the lockdown as an opportunity to push more in his music recordings.

According to him, the African music is accepted by all because of cultural assimilation and that is what is uniting the world at large.

He further explained that, he decided to invest in himself and take all the risk that comes with not signing up with bigger label or management because he sees it as a huge inspiration for him to have come this far with “Banku music” and paving way for other artists.

The fast-rising young and most sort after Ghanaian rapper and musician Kwesi Arthur, has made a historic concert of which 1 Ghana Cedi was charged for the gate fee in Kumasi in the Ashanti region of Ghana.

Few weeks ago, Kwesi Arthur posted on his Instagram page to broadcast his 1 Ghana Cedi concert in Kumasi, Ghana.

This decision caught the attention of his fans, the media and Ghanaians because they wondered why the grind day hit maker could make such an unusual decision.

He granted several interviews concerning his concert and made the public understand that

 his decision for the Cedi and a dream show was based on his personal encounter with the one cedi note, that remained the only money he had on himself some years ago.

He also stated that, the destination chosen for the concert had been his second home and would always love to make the dwellers happy.

Fans including those outside Kumasi were already jam-packed with excitements behind the various entrance of Rattary pack which happened to be the venue in Kumasi before the commencement of the program around 8:00 O’clock evening on Sunday December 22, 2019.
