Tiwa Savage To Perform At The Coronation Of British Monarch King Charles III  

The Nigerian sensation singer, Tiwa Savage, has been billed to perform at King Charles III of Britain’s coronation. According to a statement from the event’s organizers, Tiwa Savage had been chosen as one of the few African artists to play at the historic coronation concert, 

“We are excited to announce that Tiwa Savage will perform at the coronation concert alongside other world-class musicians. Tiwa Savage is an exceptional artiste with a unique blend of African and Western sounds…,” the statement read.

The momentous occasion is slated to occur in Westminster Abbey in London on Saturday, May 6, 2023. However, according to the Telegraph UK, Tiwa Savage will perform alongside stars like Steve Winwood, DJ Pete Tong, Lang Lang and Lucy, Paloma Faith, and Olly Murs to dazzle guests at the coronation concert and Big Lunch on Sunday, May 7, 2023, allowing the public to mark the occasion with street parties.

Her invitation earns her the spot as the first Nigerian artist to receive an invitation to perform at a foreign royal coronation ceremony. Speaking on her invitation in an interview with the BBC, the 42-year-old performer conveyed her appreciation for the unique opportunity presented to her.

“It’s truly an honor to represent Africa and the Commonwealth at such a historical event. I look forward to joining the celebrations and bringing Afrobeats to Windsor Castle for the first time”, Tiwa said.

Other international acts like Take That, Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, Andrea Bocelli, Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings, Alexis Ffrench, and a collaboration of five Royal patronages will all be there to grace the occasion.
