David Ortiz Shot In The Back In Dominican Republic

The world of baseball is shocked by the news of the shooting of David Ortiz. The three-time World Series Champion was shot in the back outside a night club in Dominique Republic.
Caught On Camera
The horrible act caught surveillance cameras around the night club. The shooter approaches Ortiz from behind and shoots at him once, causing him to fall out of his chair.
The incident happened at 8.50 pm local time outside the night club East Santo Domingo.
According to reports, the bullet entered Ortiz’s lower back and went through his lower abdominal region.
Feliz Garcia was immediately apprehended and is custody. while the other suspect disappeared.
Treatment So Far
Ortiz didn’t know the man, he believes it was a was a robbery attempt.
His intestines and gall bladder were fractured. As a result, an immediate surgery was performed.
The Red Sox picked up Ortiz via an air ambulance to transfer him to Massachusetts General Hospital where he is recovering at the moment.
His father, Leo Ortiz, told reporters that he is expected to recover fully. They’re waiting for testimonies from witnesses and the owners of the night club.
Investigations
There was also speculation about the involvement of the police since. However, the Dominican National Police have refuted the participation of any police officer.
The distinguished baseball player David Ortiz nicknamed Big Papi spent 20 seasons as a designated hitter.
After formerly playing for Major League Baseball and Minnesota Twins, he spent 14 seasons with the Boston Red Sox between 2003 and 2016.
He currently holds ten All-Star Championships and three World Series Championships (in 2004, 2007 and 2013).
