WHAT HAPPENED IN WIRELESS FESTIVAL 2019
The United Kingdom is festival heaven with so many music festivals for different tastes. The Festival is one of the most popular festivals.
It usually takes places every year during the first week of July and hosts worldwide famous artists from Kanye West to Justin Timberlake and Rihanna
The American entertainment company Live Nation founded it in 2005.
During the first seven years, it was hosted in Hyde Park, followed by Harewood House, Olympic Park, Perry Park, and Finsbury Park since 2014.
The festival line-up includes names from a massive spectrum of music genres such as pop, rock, indie, trip hop, hip hop, acid jazz and electronic.
This year’s Wireless Festival was held on 5-7 July with the line-up that was announced in January.
Cardi B and Migos were the headliners of the stage on Friday, while Travis Scott and ASAP Rocky headlined Saturday and Sunday respectively.
The line-up mainly consisted of renowned names of hip hop such as Tyga, Young Thug, Megan Thee Stallion, Denzel Curry, Steff London, Idris Elba and more.
The festival was sponsored by Pepsi Max and New Look this year. O2, Yahoo and Barclaycard are among the former sponsors.
Cardi B’s performance was one of the most anticipated performances during the festival, as this marked her debut at Wireless.
She was supposed to perform last year but had to withdraw because of her pregnancy.
As thousands of fans were screaming with a trance state of mind, the 26-year-old singer did something unexpected.
Cardi B Wig
As she kneeled on stage during one song, she took off a piece of extension from her wig and threw it at the audience who started fighting for to death.
Immediately afterward, Cardi B expressed her regret about tossing the wig away, saying she got “carried away” during the performance.
After the concert, she posted a tweet saying that she wanted the wig back.
Despite her announcement, she hasn’t heard from the wig again, although eBay is now flooding with auctions from members who claim to be selling the wig.
One of these auctions has biddings reaching up to almost 15000 GBP. Cardi B shared the stage with the Grammy nominee rap group from Atlanta, Migos.
Migos was among the names in the line-up in the previous year. Also, Cardi B and Migos member Offset are in a relationship and had a child together
Migos performed songs from their album Culture II as well as the solo albums launched by the members Takeoff and Quavo.
The most moving part of the festival was the tribute to Cadet. The British rapper Cadet, who was at the peak of his career, passed away in a car crash on February 9th this year.
He was on his way to a performance. His name was also on the line-up list to perform on the last day of the festival.
The organizers have since decided to leave the slot empty to honor his memory. However, Cadet’s management organised an amazing tribute to honor him.
